The poem you are about to read is a small glimpse into the life of a disabled girl and her Mother who would do and has done ANYTHING to give her a "normal" life.

For your birthday I dream of filling your wishes
As I look outside while rinsing the dishes.
I know how you wish to skate, dance or run.
You wish to ride a bike, jump rope and have fun.

You long to build a snowman or climb a tree,
Wear pretty shoes and be active like me.
My beautiful daughter, I have wishes of my own.
That I have wished all the time you have grown.

I wish you my legs and I wish you my health.
I wish you this much more than mere wealth.
I wish I could promise you a normal life,
One without heartache, one without strife.

I wish I had your strength, courage and will.
After 42 surgeries, your smile warms still.
In your young life, we've crossed bridges together.
You've held on no matter how bad the weather.

Live life to the fullest is one thing I have taught.
I've tried to teach things that can't be bought.
To love yourself and to show others you care,
Are just two things we've been able to share.

You are an inspiration to all you have known.
You enrich other's lives with seeds you have sown.
You cherish every moment of life Randee Sue.
