5 must-do's to make that dream come true!

Have you ever had a big dream that you were so insanely passionate about that you just knew you would regret not going after it? Have you ever wanted to do something for yourself, like run a marathon, lose that baby fat,  jump out of an airplane, or patent an invention but you just didn't have enough inspiration to get started or enough momentum to continue? Well, I’m officially lighting the fire under your tush right now! If the above video didn’t inspire you enough to keep on fighting for what you want, then read on to find out the 5 keys to making it happen so you don't ever end up giving up on your dream:

1) Have wild passion

A goal or a desire to do something is not enough. You need true passion. This is critical because when the time comes and you feel discouraged, tired, overwhelmed, or want to give up, the only thing that will carry you through is an unrelenting passion and belief in what you’re doing. When you truly believe in the significance, importance, or gravity of what you’re doing or your goal, it will happen. Passion will carry you through the whole nine yards.

2) Surround yourself with positive, encouraging, and supportive people

Find someone who believes in you. Better yet, surround yourself with people who are generally positive and encouraging (this is harder than it sounds!). Ditch the "negative Nancy's", "naysayers", and "doubters" in your life! I can't tell you how important this is! Most of the time, people don't have good opinions. Most of the time, you don't need their feedback in order to make your idea better. Pay attention to this and notice that most people you tell your amazing idea to will tell you it’s crap (in one form or another). They will give you all the reasons why it won't work or why you should do something else instead. There is a reason why YOU came up with this brilliant idea and not them. So keep your insanely brilliant ideas to yourself! If you need to get some feedback or opinions, then talk to people who will ultimately use your product or services, or people who have achieved your goal or are on their way to making it happen.

3) Believe in yourself

No brainer. You must believe in yourself whole-heartedly before you can truly be successful at any endeavor. Believe that you won’t fail. Believe that what you’re doing is a worthwhile cause for yourself and for the world. What if it’s not? Then sit down and really talk to someone you trust about what you truly believe in or feel strongly about. Seek a coach or mentor who can help you. The world needs you and your big dream so don't be afraid to put yourself out there!

4)  It’s never too late- no more excuses

You’re never too old, too young, too incapable, too weak, or too silly to do something. Shut off those negative voices that fire off the excuses and reasons why it would never work. And while you’re at it, shut out those "negative Nancy’s" as well!

5) Never, ever give up

If you feel truly passionate about what you're doing, then the pain of giving up and not achieving your dream is far greater than the pain of  perservering, feeling like no one understands what you're going through, or working your tush off with no immediate return. When you risk it all in order to be successful, that's when you know you've struck gold. So don't give up! You have something amazingly beautiful and wonderful here that needs to be nurtured and shared with the world!

My last wise words (for now): YOU are worth it. Life is short, is precious, blah blah blah, you heard it all before! But honestly, as cliché as it sounds, you have to make the most of it. Take the chance on yourself and on your dream. You won't regret it, I promise!

This week’s tush-kickin’ challenge: Commit to taking action on your goal or dream. You only need to take the next step. Share with me below your goal or dream and the next step you'll take to make it happen!
