A friend of mine died this weekend.
He was too young, too energetic, too loved – but cancer beat him.
At one time he was a famous model, plastered on billboards around the country. Everyone wanted to look like him.
But this weekend he was gaunt and grey, as he fought to stay alive. To be contrasted was his ER doctor, a strikingly beautiful young woman. She did all she could, but the cancer was too strong.

I really like the New Year holiday.
The first day of the new year feels like a new beginning to me. Mistakes and missed opportunities are “yesterday’s news,” and now we get a new bite at the apple.
