As I write this from my $6/night bungalow, RIGHT on the beach in Ko Phangan, Thailand, with my $6/day scooter in the driveway, and thinking about riding to town for my $3 dinner, it's hard to imagine a land of big mortgages, corporate jobs with 2 week vacations, and $7+ martinis. Today I rode my scooter down some sketchy dirt roads, climbed down an AMAZING waterfall to a beach with no one on it. We were thirsty/hungry so I climbed a coconut tree and tossed a couple down. There was so much…

Affirmations are the most effective way I know to increase your confidence and self image / esteem. You repeat them daily, in really just a minute or two or three. It's an easy thing to add to your daily routine. I personally tend to do them while driving to/from home.
You can use them to increase your confidence in specific areas, such as dealing with customers, treating your family with love and respect, eating a healthy diet etc.
My goal here is not to…

"When you grow up you tend to get told the world is the way it is and your life is just to live your life inside the world. Try not to bash into the walls too much. Try to have a nice family life, have fun, save a little money.
That’s a very limited life. Life can be much broader once you discover one simple fact, and that is - everything around you that you call life, was made up by people that were no smarter than you. And you can change it, you can influence it, you can build your…

Balance is key
-Positive attitude + mental focus + plan of action = success
-Stop chasing rainbows and find your treasure
-Change nothing and nothing will change
-If you want to change the world you are your first responsibility
-It is alright to help people, just not at the expense of your own essence
-The definition of insanity is to repeat the same thing over and over
again, and each time expecting a different result
-Surround yourself with like…

People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime. When you know which one it is, you will know what to do for that person. When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed.
They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be.
Then, without…

A reoccurring message has become clear to me these past few days… As stated above, life does not have to be perfect to be wonderful. I think that many people get so caught up in trying to make things “perfect”. We want our relationships, job, closet, bodies, make-up, hair, life, etc. to be ideal. Maybe I’m generalizing when I say “people”…

Watch your thoughts they become words
Watch your words they become actions
Watch your actions they become habits
Watch your habits; they become your character
Watch your character; it becomes your destiny
Love is in the air this month, and yesterday’s chocolate-filled holiday sure was a happy one for me. Since my last post was dedicated to all you single folks out there, I wanted to take the opportunity today to share some insight for my “taken” readers.
While I’m currently in a happy and healthy relationship, it hasn’t always been this way for me. I’ve had turbulent years of dating experience (as I’m sure…

There is a great sports story in the basketball world right now: Jeremy Lin of the New York Knicks.
A month or so, Lin was an asterisk on the Knicks roster. He was on the team, but barely – and he got very
little playing time. Then, because more established players were unable to play, Lin got his chance.
The results are nothing short of phenomenal. As of this writing, he is…

Last year on Valentine’s day, I was single. For some, this may seem like your worst nightmare. For others, this ain’t really a big deal. Fortunately, I was part of the latter. Instead of feeding into the pessimism of others on my Facebook feed and whining, “All those happy couples can suck it!” or “This holiday freakin’ SUCKS! Screw love” or “Blah, blah, blah, I am…

“I have heard there are troubles of more than one kind. Some come from ahead and some come from behind. But I've bought a big bat. I'm all ready you see. Now my troubles are going to have troubles with me!” Dr Seuss
Hope this one gives you a chuckle like it did for me. Just keep swinging, keep trying, and remember that failure is an event, not a person :)…

The best piece of advice I’ve ever received was from my Grandma Joanne, written in a high school graduation card to me. Underneath the printed poem she wrote, “Follow your bliss.” This short but sweet piece of advice has stuck in my mind since. I called my grandma recently, almost five years after she gave me that…

I just wanted to share this with all of you. I was born with deformed legs, however, as I get older it has got worse. But something I said last night, in conversation with my partner was:
My legs are such a small part of me has a whole and the part of me that makes me who I am is; My Heart, My Mind & My Spirit/Soul, so all in all I am a kind/happy person, who just has a minor problem with my legs.
So no matter what physical ailments people have, it is only a small thing in…

I was just reading the blog post by Jim Randall. What caught my eye about it was the strikingly beautiful young doctor. Heck I'd just like to get a look at her! Sigh....I'm just SO shallow!
The young man who Jim speaks of, I salute his life and hope there is a gleam in his eye as he has discovered what none of us know.
I think about how many souls have gone through life before me. It confounds my mind every bit as much as trying to make sense of the creation of the…
