Katz Jensen said… Hi Vikram I am not sure if you still want suggestions to help you gain confidence in speaking English but I am going to send you some.
Most English people understand that the language is difficult for a foreigner to speak (most women quite enjoy hearing an accent) so you need to speak slow enough and punctuate your words. Your voice must be just loud enough that the last roll of people can hear you.
You can practice this several ways.
A) watch english speaking programs, listen to how words are phrased.
B) Practice simple phrases in front of your mirror. Hold your head up and look at your forehead and then pronunciate each work slowly. Do this over and over until you are comfortable with this. Then pick another sentence to practice.
C) When it is time to give your speech practice it in front of the mirror looking at your forehead.
D) Continue to chat with English speakers on this site. Different countries phrase sentences differently. Read the blogs that are well written with punctuation out loud slowly.
E) Try to form your thoughts in English do it slowly part of the day instead of your native language.
Now as to confidence, you might try the following.
Always be impeccable dressed for a speech or an interview. (You probable already know that one.)
Hold your head up smiling as you walk into the room.
Do not fidget or touch your face a lot. People will think you are nervous.
If you have to walk down an aisle to go up to give a speech smile and greet the people by shaking their hands and thanking them for coming.
When you start your speech and you still feel uncomfortable, admit this to the crowd saying that your English is a work in progress and if anyone does not understand you to please interrupt you and you will attempt to explain a point again.
When you are speaking to the crowd do not look into anyone's eyes. Look directly just above their eyes. This appears that you are looking into their eyes but by doing this it is less intimidating for you.
Move your gaze often to a different forehead. This makes it appear that you are engaging the whole audience.
Speak slow enough so you can pronunciate the words easier.
If time permits during your speech ask the crowd if there is any questions.
Sir you are probable doing a lot of these things already. I wish you luck and I hope maybe some of these suggestions work for you.
If all else fails and you still feel embarrassed, picture everyone in their underwear. Trust me, that mental picture will relax you and make you smile.
Hope this helps.
I wish you enough. Katz

I'm confused and need some guidance. When we talk about forgiving so that we can free ourselves from the past and the pain, does this mean we tell those that hurt us to forgive us or that we forgive them. Also, just to clarify, we talk to them…Continue
